About the Spirit :
It’s spirit whom you invite to answer your questions. They are belief to be able predict the future and see your past. They are invisible and usually harmless but playful at times. Some people belief that the spirit is spirit of their relatives, ancestors or friends. Thus, they will not harm you in most circumstances.
Even though, players should not be too obsessed in this game. There are people who are so into this game and treat the answer given as an order. Some people even committed suicide as the answer they get is unfavorable. Always remember, your future is in your hand. Be strong and you are able to change situation even if they are undesirable.
What you need :
Choose a quiet place to play with minimum 3 persons. You can have 4, 5 or 6 players if the saucer is big enough to let all players rest their index fingers on. You are trying to invite kind spirit and not haunting ghost. So try not to play at haunted house and not at 12am as you do not wish to invite ghost that is looking for replacement.
Use a big piece of white paper and a white saucer. In the middle of the paper, draw a circle slightly bigger then the dish representing the ‘home’ of the saucer. Around the ‘home’ circle, write neatly number 0 to 9, alphabets A to Z, ‘yes’, ‘no’ and some simple words if you want (For English). For Chinese version, you can write number 0 – 9 and common words that you can think of such as ‘yes, no, surname, colors etc”. This is for communication between the spirit and players. (When I was very young, I can buy such Saucer Game. It was pack in a bag with a saucer and paper pre-printed with words from provision shops. It’s a common game at that time.).
How to Play :
Place the paper with words and numbers written on it on a table. Invert the saucer and use a market pen to mark an arrow on the bottom of the dish pointing from the center to the rim of the dish (so that when it moves, you know clearly which work the dish is pointing to). Place the up side down saucer in the middle of the paper where you have drawn a circle ‘home’ earlier. All players sit around it and rest their index finger lightly on the dish.
All players to focus and chant softly “saucer spirit, saucer spirit, please come out” (碟仙, 碟仙, 快出来.). All players must be focus and sincere in your invitation. Do not fool around and talk nonsense. Even if one of the player is not focus or sincere, the spirit will not be willing to accept your invitation and answer your questions.
When the spirit arrives, the saucer will start to move left right or in circular motion. Be polite and sensitive when asking question. Do not be rude to the spirit as you might offend it and it might punish you or refuse to leave even though you have decided not to play on. So, be polite and respectful.
Once the saucer starts to move, players can ask questions one at a time. You may take turns asking questions. The spirit will answer your question by moving to the workds indicated on the paper. Always be polite and play at the right place.
YOU SHOULD NOT ASK stupid and offending question such as how did the spirit die, whether he is angry with his death, when did he die etc etc.
When you have no more questions to ask, you have to ask the spirit to return to it’s home politely. All have to chant “saucer spirit, saucer spirit, we have no more question, please go back.” (碟仙碟仙，所有的问题都问完了，你可以回去了.) The saucer will slowly return to it’s ‘home’ in the center of the paper. Before the saucer return to the ‘home’ where it will stop moving, nobody should lift their fingers from the saucer.
Sometimes, the spirit will not return immediately. It that case, all must be sincere and keep repeating the chant of asking it to go home. Do not panic and lift your fingers. It will go home if all players are sincere and focus. They are friendly but sometimes playful.
However, there are rare cases where it refuses to go home. When such things happen, one of the player (preferably virgin) must prick his/her fingers and drip a drop of blood on the saucer. Chanting of holly chants is necessary to protect yourself. This happen when you didn’t actually invite spirit but ghost. So, players must select a clean place before playing. The best is not to play as you can’t be sure who you are inviting.
As this is a game of concentration and focus, many argue that it’s not spirit that you invite but the will power of all players to seek the answers from your sub-conscious.

THE BATH TUB (浴缸鬼)

Spooky Games :
You need prayer oil, a bowl of chicken blood and a bowl of noodles (the longer the better). Look for a bathroom with bathtub. Enter the bathroom naked i.e. you don’t remove your clothes in the bathroom but enter the bathroom naked. Thus, it will be better if you can have the bathroom attached to the bedroom.
Once enter the bathroom, place the noodles in a bowl on the floor in front of you and bow three times. Pour the prayer oil into the bowl and bow three times again. Pour the chicken blood into the bowl and bow three more times. After the bows, Do Not lift your head up when you see or hear something. When you see or hear something, immediately pour the bowl of noodles with oil and blood into the bathtub. Lay into the bathtub immediately and you can see what you wish to see.

MIRROR MIROR ON THE WALL (镜子鬼)

Spooky Games :
This game to be played by 3 girls and 2 boys. Before midnight, enter a room with a big mirror where players are able to view everybody in the mirror. Form a circle with a girl, then boy, girl, boy, a girl.
When all are ready, all turn towards your right facing the back of the player on your right. Start walking in a circle. While walking, one of the girl may start blowing a gentle breath towards the neck of the player that she is facing. That playing will blow toward the one infront of him and so on.
What believe you might see or encounter :
One of the player will experience two blow on his/her neck. This person must tell the rest “it’s here” and immediately turn his/her back towards the mirror (that player do not look at the mirror). The rest of the player (the remaining 4) immediately look into the mirror and find out what is the extra “thing” you see. You might see 5 persons facing the mirror. You might see many facing the mirror. You might see…..who knows ????
Whatever you see, do not panic, do not run. All must say together “Go away” and turn around (back toward the mirror).

DOLL SPIRIT (请仙)

This is a game my granny told me. She remember that she heard it from her elderly in her hometown. It is from a remote town in China.
The Game :
Play this game on a night that has no moonlight. Play it in your bedroom’s balcony. All you need is your bed and a doll (either you bought it yourself or a gift from others) to play.
First, you have to walk three rounds in your bedroom’s balcony with your usual walking speed. Then, you have to go to your bed and jump trice in front of your bed (any side) and slap your doll trice too. Hold on to the doll, lie down on your bed and sleep.
What believe you might see or encounter :
You might hear somebody / something knocking on your bedroom door.
My granny said nobody knows what happen next and nobody knows if it is dangerous as nobody dare to try. My granny told me coz she knows that I’ll never try games like that. Yes, she is absolutely right.

GHOST INVITATION TECHNIQUE(招鬼术)

The Game :
This game may be played alone if you dare. Play the game on a full moon night (midnight). Look for a small lane which is moist and dark otherwise you will not be able to see what you wish to see…….ghost. Player has walk toward the direction where he is facing his own shadow. Every step you move, speak your own name in your thought once. Repeat it for 13 times (one step chant your name once).
What believe might see or encounter :
When you have completed 13 steps, you may discover two shadows on the floor. One is of course yours but the others ???.....Hmm ......
It is believe that this ghost that you have invited can grant your wish. However, you will need to return the ghost a favor by granting the ghost its wish. Can you imagine what will the ghost ask in return ? Well, it might be a simple unfinished wish or a small favor. But..if he has something beyond your ability to give. Another Spooky Games :
This game to be played by 6 o 10 person (preferably girls….don’t ask me why.).
Look for a house where main door is against sun rise. Enter the house after sun set. Players may keep the lights on (inside and outside the house). Do not allow too many people walking pass the main door. Assign one number (1 to 10 if you have 10 players) to all the players.
First player with No 1 walk out the house and close the door. While outside, turn around, face the door and count to 10 silently. Then, knock the door three times. Player No.2 will open the door, let Player No. 1 enter the house and Player No. 2 will walk out, close the door, turn around and repeat the same.
Players in the house should not make too much noise while playing and not to stay too near the door (a few steps away.)
What believe might see or encounter :
While opening and closing the door, those in the house might see another “person” or “something” behind the person staying outside. Do not run away or panic or scream. Player in the house must blow air with your mouth together towards outside where the other player is standing, till that “thing” is gone, else that player will be in danger.
Player outside must not turn around and look what is behind him/her. The person who open the door must not panic and leave the door.
It is said that when the thing appear, it is related to the sin that the person outside the house has committed in his/her pass life. So, that person better do some good deed to redeem his/her past sin.

BLOODY MARY 血腥玛丽

It is said that it is a name of a female evil spirit and this is a game that is inviting her. This game is quite popular among young girls. However the consequences is believed to be fatal.
The Game :
Enter a bathroom alone. Off the light and lock the door. Face the mirror in the bathroom and put a candle between the mirror and you, or a candle on left and right of the mirror. Light up the candle and close your eyes. Call softly for "Bloody Marry" three times.
What believe might see or encounter :
Both eyes dug out by the evil spirit; a disgusting evil face appear on the mirror; the evil spirit will frighten you to death; blood flows out from walls and mirror; evil spirit pull you into the mirror........MEANS you are DOOM !!!
